Jock Pederson returned to Atlanta to receive his World Championship ring from the Braves. Here are the three best moments from the party.
Last year, the Atlanta Braves made a bunch of deals to advance the World Championships, and they’ve been hugely successful. One of the players who caught their eye was quarterback Jock Pederson, who signed with the San Francisco Giants this off-season.
Now, he’s back in Atlanta on June 20 to start the three-game Braves-Giants series. Prior to the first match, the Braves held a party for Pedersen where he took home his second World Championship ring.
Here are the three best moments from the party.
3. Braeves’ video tribute to Jock Pederson
Of course, there can be no party without a video tribute that a team has created for their former player. Atlanta did just that, showing off his debut with the team after being acquired by the Cubs, even making it to his speech at the World Championship Parade.
2. Jock Pederson is reunited with former Braves players and coaches
Come on, who doesn’t love Reunion? Prior to the match and celebration, Pederson met with his former teammates and coaches, such as third base coach Ron Washington.
1. Jock Pedersen gets the world championship ring
The lead goes to the ceremony itself. Pederson stood by the Commissioner’s Cup alongside former teammates Ian Anderson and Luke Jackson. In a hilarious moment, Anderson opened the ring box for Pederson, but no ring was found. Shortly thereafter, Jackson pulled the ring out of the blue and handed it to Pederson.
Pederson earned his ring and a standing ovation from Braves fans at Trustist Park.
