The New York Yankees would be stupid if they didn’t pay Aaron Judge all the money in the world right now.
As if Aaron Judge needed more leverage in his future contract negotiations with the New York Yankees, the supposed 2022 AL MVP just hit a killer three-stroke throw to knock out the Houston Astros in extra innings.
Having suffered no embarrassing injury just a day earlier, the Bronx Bombers found themselves on a 3-0 hole in front of everyone’s other favorite baseball team. New York will put one inning at the bottom of the seventh inning and two extra runs to tie it to three at the bottom of the eighth inning. With one sweet swing at the bottom of the X, Judge fired New York to a 6-3 win over.
Needless to say, but Aaron Judge is an absolute… DAWG!
Aaron Judge made it impossible for the New York Yankees not to pay him
Judge’s 28th home of the season came from Seth Martinez’s show when his team needed him most. He now hits 56 RBI a year as well. Judge totally rocks the plate, which is a big reason why the Yankees have the best record in baseball. They are the only team in MLB to have 50 wins or more, and the Yankees just improved to 53-20 on the season.
Of course, the Yankees happen to be playing in the best league in baseball right now, too. Arch-rivals the Boston Red Sox have won seven consecutive best games in the league. The Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays each have 40 wins and would be the AL Wild Card team if the season ended today. Even the Baltimore Orioles surprisingly play baseball at the age of 34-40.
Ultimately, the cost of Judge’s service is increasing day by day. Even if the Yankees claim they can’t keep him once he has access to free agency, New York doesn’t have the luxury to be cheap in this situation. Either they pay Judge an unreasonable sum of money over the next decade or he’ll come out the dirtiest beard this side of the Mississippi elsewhere.
It’s not about whether the judge will win the AL MVP, but the question of who will end up in second place for him.
