Freddy Freeman’s return to Atlanta with the Dodgers may have been bittersweet for Braves fans, but they welcomed him anyway.
Anyone who thought there was a chance Braves fans would mock Freddy Freeman when he came back to play at Truist Park as Dodger was deeply wrong.
Fans in Atlanta gave Freeman the welcome he deserved this weekend, including an emotional response to receiving his world championship ring.
Emotions never subsided as the Braves and Dodgers wrapped up their three-game series on Sunday.
Brave fans gave Freddy Freeman another warm welcome
When Freeman came to the plate in the first inning, he got his third standing ovation in three matches from the Braves Faithful.
Freeman’s leaving Atlanta for Los Angeles certainly hurt. However, fans are clearly aware of the incredible run he’s had with them, particularly in presenting the World Championship title in 2021. There are clearly no hard feelings on either side, and it is gratifying to see in the world of sports where a breakup can ruin a legacy.
Freeman went 1 for 2 with a walk twice and scored twice on Friday. He was held in a 1 for 4 with three hits on Saturday.
He drafted The Braves Freeman in 2007 and made his MLB debut in 2010 with the organization. He went on to five All-Star picks, three Silver Sloggers, a Gold Glove, and the World Series Most Valuable Player.
This year with the Dodgers battling the 303/.387/.489 with eight home runs, 45 RBI and six stolen bases.
