Bellator MMA star Valerie Loreda signs WWE on a multi-year contract

Rising MMA star Valerie Loreda leaves behind the squared circle fighting game as she signed a multi-year contract to compete in WWE.

WWE has been more selective in signings over the past year or so, but sometimes there’s more of an opportunity to miss. Such is the case with former Bellator star Valerie Loreda.

On Wednesday, Loueda announced that she is leaving MMA and signed a multi-year contract with WWE. According to her post on social media, Lorida is now the first Cuban-American woman to sign with the professional wrestling giant.

Loureda has had success as an MMA fighter, setting a 4-1 professional record with Bellator at just 24 years old. Now as she ventures into pro wrestling, she will be looking forward to continuing that success as she will definitely head to NXT after arriving at the WWE Performance Center on her first official day, July 18.

WWE: Valerie Loreda signs a multi-year contract

WWE has never been shy about looking for potential MMA stars and has had some success in doing so. Recently, we saw a guy like Riddle leave the UFC to wrestle on the independent circuit before making his way to NXT and now looks like one of the company’s biggest draws.

Elsewhere, they obviously pursued a big name like Ronda Rousey but also had success with Shayna Baszler and others.

They obviously hope Loureda, who has a large following on social media and, once again, is only 24 years old, can follow the path to success in the squared circle. Given her achievements in the mixed martial arts world that she was now leaving, it seemed like it would be foolish to bet on her.
