Freddy Freeman’s drama continues as his former agent, Casey Close, accuses the Braves of creating a “false narrative” about the star’s free agency.
If you thought Freddy Freeman’s drama regarding his departure from the Atlanta Braves at free agency would subside after he broke up with his agent, Casey Close, you were seriously wrong.
Since that happened, things got even more awful regarding the situation. It all started with FOX Sports’ Doug Gottlieb who reported that his agent “tricked” Freeman into that Klose had never told him of his final Atlanta contract offer last season prior to his signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
However, Klose refuted this report on Wednesday evening a few hours after it was released while he and Excel Sports Management threatened legal action against Gottlieb over his report. However, this was not the last word from Claus.
Freddy Freeman: Former Agent Casey Close summons Braves to create a ‘false narrative’
On Thursday, Close issued a statement to ESPN’s Jeff Bassan stating that the Braves were trying to create a “false narrative” about Freeman’s departure.
Close continued, noting that he reported each contract offer to Freddy Freeman and his family and that any suggestion otherwise was wrong.
If you think this is a lot of pointing fingers and playing the blame game, you are not wrong. That sounds like a lot of schoolyard chatter at this point, only in the millions of dollars. However, it is worth noting that Claus specifically calls the brave ones to commit this novel at the moment.
Given how things have been since dropping the lockdown and leaving Excel, don’t expect this to be the last we hear about this saga.
