It’s not every day you see a big league team hitting four runs in a row at the same bowler.
The St. Louis Cardinals were able to put five first-half runs off the Philadelphia Phillies at the start of Kyle Gibson’s pitch. While Citizens Bank Park tends to favor hitters, the odds are that Gibson has never had a day like this in the office before. Shockingly, he lasted longer than his St. Louis counterpart Matthew Liberator in the game. He went four rounds, for 2.2.

This is only the eleventh time in MLB history that a team has scored four consecutive home runs. The Cardinals had never done this before in their proud history as a professional baseball franchise either.

The Cardinals in a tight division race with the Milwaukee Brewers at NL Central. With the other three competing teams rebuilding, either Milwaukee will rebuild or St. Louis will find a way to take the divisional crown for itself. As far as Phils is concerned, they have been playing a great game of baseball lately, but found themselves third in the NL East behind New York and Atlanta.
After all, you rarely see something going on on baseball diamonds that are usually meant for a video game console. Do not lie to yourself. We all tried to figure out how many home runs we could hit in a row to start the game with the right foot. Four runs in a video game is impressive, but doing it in a real-life sports event for the whole world to see is just as amazing.
