Drew Luke claps again on US Twitter account after legendary opposition

After the US Open tennis account was intercepted on Twitter, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Locke responded on the Fourth of July.

Last week, the US Open Tennis Twitter account toasted new Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Luke. A Seahawks fan responded to the featured Wimbledon video shared by the SportsCenter Twitter account, saying “It’s not a sport.” That was when the US Open Tennis Twitter account put this user in their place, saying “It’s not a sport that says a person is about to watch 17 games of Drew Lock in QB.”

The comment made by the US Open tennis account went viral on Twitter. Locke eventually released a response on the Fourth of July, wishing everyone a happy holiday “but especially to the intern at usopen”.

In case you were wondering, yes, the Twitter account responded to Lock with a familiar meme of the Nintendo Mario character with a crown.

Locke is in Seattle due in part to the business of Russell Wilson. After spending three seasons with the Denver Broncos, Lock traded the Seahawks along with a tight end Noah Fant, two defensive lines Shelby Harris, and several draft picks in exchange for Wilson.

After a promising end to his rookie campaign, Locke was unable to maintain the primary job, as evidenced by being Teddy Bridgewater’s backup last season. In three years, Locke completed 59.3 percent of his passes for 4,740 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions. He holds the record 8-3 for a start.

Luke is vying for the starting quarterback alongside Jenno Smith, who started in matches last season while Wilson was sidelined through injury.
