Tiger Woods participates in the Eagle game in the setting of the Open Championship (video)

Tiger Woods took the course at the JP McManus Pro-Am in Ireland to lightly prepare for the Open Championship and did some fireworks on July 4.

The Open Championships in St Andrews is less than two weeks away. Later, many of the golfers who will compete in the fourth major tournament of 2022 are already in Europe, most of them at this week’s Scottish Open which will provide a harmony for many players. But as for Tiger Woods, he chose to start his pre-major at the star-studded JP McManus Pro-Am in Ireland to start this week.

Along with many of the world’s best golfers and famous Pro-Am playing partners, Woods participated in the once-in-five-year event to get some reps.

While the bulk of his tour didn’t inspire much confidence in Big Cat’s shape heading to St Andrews, he did show some flashes. None of those, though, were shinier than they were in the 12th slot when Woods, from a tight corner away from the green, twirled a pretty chip that found the bottom of the cup to count as an eagle on the card.

Even at the festivities – though perhaps the largest in the world – the crowd still couldn’t get enough of Tiger Woods’ charm.

Unfortunately, that was the only magic Woods offered that day. As previously mentioned, his form left a bit undesirable as he finished his day in 5-over, tied for 43rd on a 50-man field (minus one player after Jordan Spieth was disqualified).

However, it is good to see Woods healthy and on the golf course bringing his reps to prepare himself for the Open Championship. He looked tough at the end of the PGA Championship, a tournament he withdrew from after three rounds due to his health.

Let’s hope his JP McManus Pro-Am eagle is a sign of good things coming for Woods in the next couple of weeks.
