Braves Trade add left-handed all former Superstars to make a mix

The Atlanta Braves swapped with the San Diego Padres to bring in second baseman Robinson Kano as a presence walking the board and helping out on the field.

The Braves were already putting a lot of pressure on the Mets at the top of the NL East.

They now hope the former Met can help get to the top.

On Sunday, Atlanta sent Padres cash considerations for Robinson Kano, who has been playing minor league ball for the franchise for the past few weeks.

Braves Trade previously adds All-Star to make a mix

“Robinson Cano is going to Braves in a deal with Padres for cash considerations, expected to be in majors very soon,” John Heyman tweeted. “The Braves are very good but desperately need left-footed hitters.”

Kano, who was released by the Mets earlier this season, could be brought in from the Palace in time to face his former team in their series that begins on Monday.

The Braves lost second baseman Ozzy Albis to a broken foot in June. Orlando Archia replaced him in the squad.

At 39, Kanu underperformed in the Major League earlier this season. In 24 games with the Mets and the Padres, he hit .149/.182/.189 with one home run.

He’s made more of an impact in the minor leagues since San Diego sent him, hitting .333/.375/.479 by three runs in 21 games.

It’s not clear how much impact he’ll be able to make at this point, but it’s a very low-risk move for the brave. If he played the way they did with New York and San Diego, Atlanta wouldn’t give up much to bring him as cover at second base. If he showed progress from his time in the palace, he could be a real boost to the lineup as a left-handed option.
