JT Realmuto’s excuse for not getting vaccinated isn’t good enough

Philadelphia Phillies hunter JT Realmuto was defiant when reporters asked him if he was considering getting a COVID-19 vaccine to enter Canada.

Realmuto is one of the Phillies’ best players, and their captain on the field as he is their almost daily catcher. However, he will not be able to travel with the team to Toronto, and that is his choice.

‘By choosing’ means, of course, that he is unwilling to get the COVID-19 vaccine. In order to travel to Canada, travelers must be vaccinated. This includes professional athletes, despite their best efforts.

When contacted by reporters Monday night, Realmuto doubled down on his stance, repeating his personal decision.

I’ve never heard of that before!

Phillies: JT Realmuto is not traveling with the team to Toronto

In all seriousness, it is up to Realmuto whether he is vaccinated or not, and he should not be forced to do so under any circumstances. However, just as Realmuto’s option is to give up a vaccine He could put himself and others at lower risk of contracting COVID-19, my choice not to agree to his choice.

“I’m a 31-year-old professional athlete. I just didn’t feel the need to get it. I’ve had COVID a few times, very mild symptoms, when it first appeared.

“When it came time to decide whether or not I needed the vaccine, I talked to doctors I know and told them my story, I decided I didn’t think I needed it. I wouldn’t take it just because I was told, basically. What’s the money? I’m not going to let Canada tell me what to do. And what I don’t do with my body. For so little money, it’s just not worth it.”

Despite all the opinions, the truth about the Phillies is that they are worse off without Realmuto north of the border.
