The Brooklyn Nets would rather keep Kevin Durant than trade him at this point.
Although it’s been a few weeks since Kevin Durant requested a trade, Brooklyn Nets preference To keep the disgruntled star instead of dealing with it for less than market value.
NBA insider Brian Windhurst appeared on Friday’s episode of He woke up The following was offered.
“For Kevin Durant, here’s what’s there: nothing,” Windhurst said. He woke up On Friday morning. “There is no movement here. The CEOs are leaving [NBA] Summer League. Executives are going on vacation. At this point, the Nets’ preferred position was Kevin Durant staying with them. They have no trade as they like.”
Windhurst will continue to speculate whether Durant’s trading mood has changed recently. He initially requested a deal from Brooklyn on June 30. While he signed a huge deal with Brooklyn less than a year ago, Durant’s trade does not appear imminent. The net contains all the cards. He has a contract to honor him and Brooklyn didn’t like any offer made to her.

The biggest reasons Durant wanted to be traded in the first place was the Nets franchise’s poor past season and a strained relationship with one of the team’s other co-stars at Kyrie Irving. Despite being too mercurial to be the focal point of any franchise, Irving and Durant are still close. Brooklyn also traded former Philadelphia 76ers No. 1 winner Ben Simmons last winter.
While all three superstars have their warts, it serves up Brooklyn to see if the trio of Durant, Irving and Simmons had any chemistry on the court before they blew that thing off. Simmons has yet to play a game for the Nets, as he deals with injuries, among other things. While this thing might be too toxic to spontaneously burn out hopelessly, what other options are there for grids here really?
Sure, they could replace Durant with another team, but in return they don’t get a better player. If the Nets wanted an All-Star level to get their way, as well as a bunch of picks, New Orleans Pelicans would probably make the most sense. They can choose Brandon Ingram as a focal point to build around, while Durant goes to a team advancing in the Western Conference.
For now, the Nets are serving to keep Durant so they can get the best commercial offer possible.
