Brock Henderson battled fierce opponents on the final day of the Amondy Evian Championships to claim her second major win.
On the final day of the Evian Championships, six women took the lead simultaneously. It seems that Nelly Korda’s return was the story of the championship, as she played only her fifth event after blood clot surgery. With a stunning eagle strike in ninth, Korda tied Canadian Brooke Henderson for the lead.
Another American, Sophia Schubert, shocked the competition with back-to-back birds in holes 11 and 12 to approach not only her first potential big win but also her first LPGA title.
Nerves of steel were needed to fight through this intense competition. And that’s exactly what Brooke Henderson offered. She has proven to be the most resilient player out of an amazing talent field to secure her second biggest tournament six years after her stunning debut in the Women’s PGA Championship at the age of 18.

It was never Henderson’s 12th LPGA title, despite the consistency and ingenuity she demonstrated throughout the four days. Three bogeys – including one to start the day, a landslide double on the sixth hole, and one on the eleventh – seemed to indicate nerves as they watched Schubert jump her onto the leaderboard.
But proof of Henderson’s determination saw the 24-year-old Ontario native dig deep and make birds when they needed them most. Three birds on its back nine put it on top, including a nine-foot-tall inspiring bird on a clutch kick that avoided a playoff with Schubert.
With four sparrows canceling the ghost, Brooke Henderson’s persistence paid off, giving her an equal turn of 71 on the day. All but one of the top 8 sub-standard players scored some of their best matches on the last day. But it was Henderson’s championship to win.
The two-time main winner managed to hold the top spot throughout the entire event, with 64 consecutive scores in the first two days. But it was Henderson’s determination in the face of defeat on the last day that was most impressive, as she skillfully finished the match on Day 18 with the jumper she needed at the last minute.
“It was an exciting day for sure. I’ve stayed as patient as possible,” Henderson said. Across Watchman. “The old saying is that the majors win a back nine so I reminded myself of that. I kept saying I was still inside and did some clutch grips.”
Her supporters drenched her in champagne, grabbed the bottle and took a big gulp in celebration.
