Baseball fans in the Big Apple provide an enormous amount of pressure. For Gallo, the face of the era of the three outcomes, it was always bound to end in disaster.
“Every time I see a Yankees hat, every time I see a Yankees shirt, that’s something I have to understand,” Gallo said At Yankee Stadium on Thursday. “I didn’t play well as a Yankee. I wish I had.”
By all accounts, Gallo is a very nice person who gives everything he has on diamonds. However, by the end of his tenure with the Yankees, the strike was the only real outcome he could count on.

Gallo numbers speak for themselves – they are bad. Like, really bad. The 28-year-old cuts .159/.282/.339. It rarely reaches the norm. When he does, he’s a good runner, just as he is a capable defender. But these qualities only go away.
Bob Nightingale reports that the Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays are interested in Gallo. Jon Heyman has added a new team to the mix – the Milwaukee Brewers – who also would like a chance to give Gallo a fresh start.
Swinging on a Gallo on its bend is nothing more than a bullet in the dark. With Texas, Gallo was flawed but remained an all-star model. It wasn’t until he got to the Bronx that he got so close he was amplified on the national stage.
Perhaps, with the right guardianship, Gallo could regain his strength and reach the base more often.
