Josh Allen gets into a fight with a 341-pound D-lineman at Training Bills
Jack Paul will not be boxing Hashem Rahman Jr at Madison Square Garden next week with bout failure due to weight issues.
Just a week before his next match, which was to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York, Jake Paul, turned boxer-turned-boxer, wouldn’t be fighting, after all.
According to a report by BoxingScene’s Jake Donovan, the fight between Paul’s younger brother and Hasim Rehman Jr. has been called off – along with the rest of the accompanying pay-per-view card.
Why was the Jake Paul fight cancelled?
Donovan says the fight was called off due to weight discrepancy issues. Most Valuable Promotions confirmed that Paul Rahman Jr’s match had been halted for this reason.
According to a statement from the promoter, the bout was agreed upon with a maximum weight limit of 200 pounds. Rahman had assured, since he weighed in at 216 pounds on July 7, that he would be able to achieve the weight – which the statement describes as not being cut in good faith.
After losing just one pound in the 24-day period, according to MVP Promotions, Paul agreed to a 205-pound weight contest, but Rahman and his time wanted to fight at 215 pounds, which promoters confirmed Abdul-Rahman intended to weigh.
Whoever purchased tickets for the event or already purchased pay-per-view will receive full refunds.
