Baseball’s vocalist, Finn Scully, died Tuesday at the age of 94. Here are some of his best baseball moments and calls.

The voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers and baseball vocalist Finn Scully passed away at the age of 94 on Tuesday afternoon.

He was the Voice of the Dodgers from 1950 through 2016 but he was more than that. For millions, it was the sound of baseball and even the sound of sports.

It was NBC’s voice Game of the week 1983 – 1989. He played games on CBS Radio and even played other sports. He played NFL games and golf games on CBS from 1975 until 1982. Among other moments, he was dubbed “The Catch” on CBS in the 1981 NFC Championship game that sealed the Super Bowl berth for the San Francisco 49ers.

But he always came back to baseball and had big moments. Scully called 24 world championships, including 11 on television. Call 18 players, three perfect games (including the only perfect game in the World Championships so far), record-setting Hank Aaron, and many more special moments.

There will never be another Finn Scully in baseball or sports broadcasting, for that matter. His longevity and storytelling skills (and his perfect timing with them) will be unparalleled.
