Carson Wentz has reached new heights with the leaders at boot camp

There weren’t high hopes for Carson Wentz when he joined the Washington captains this season, but he failed even to clear that low.

It was an almost unanimous feeling when Carson Wentz traded with Washington leaders that it wouldn’t be a beneficial move for the franchise. Wentz struggled quite a bit, especially at the bottom, in Indianapolis in the 2021 season and has been in steady decline for several years.

Suffice it to say there was no excess of optimism about what another landscape change could do for Wentz.

But even then, it’s curious to see how terribly things go in Washington’s previous Top 2 pick.

Carson Wentz struggles with even the easiest exercises at Leaders Camp

According to a report from the Leaders camp on Tuesday, Wentz struggles to make even the easiest throws in practice, flailing balls and missing receivers in what can be referred to as the NFL’s version of the throwing streak.

Given that Wentz’s accuracy, while not perfect, wasn’t the biggest problem with his performances on the field with the Colts, this makes this situation all the more unsettling for the leaders.

As of now, Washington is considering a questionable decision-making quarterback, who has dealt a lot of injuries, and who can now not hit the water if he throws a soccer ball out of a boat. Talk about a not-so-great quarterback situation.

What’s interesting is that there are also reports from DC that fifth-round rookie Sam Howell has looked great so far in training camp. If Wentz struggled, did the leaders just cut their losses and see what the novice had?

The way things go, it may end up being the least painful option for Washington.
