Mets closer Edwin Diaz was spreading very quickly due to his withdrawal, but Citi Field are about to see it improve with a new twist on trumpeting.
Few things in baseball right now are more electric than the atmosphere at Citi Field the closer the New York Mets get to Edwin Diaz. Not only is he one of the best players in MLB this season at stopping any opposing attempt at a comeback, but it’s his withdrawal that has caused quite the stir.
The phrase “the sound of horns” became popular in the Big Apple due to Diaz’s use of the song “Narco” by Blasterjaxx featuring Timmy Trumpet. The anthem is ringing all over the stadium with loud trumpets and everyone is losing their minds.
But that’s about to get more electric, or at least it’ll be for one night at the stadium.
According to reports, Timmy Trumpet will be in the Mets’ home game in late August, and will blast the trumpets straight from Citi Field.
Mets: Edwin Diaz pulled out to get live horns from Timmy liking
If you think the atmosphere is going crazy right now, just wait for those horns to come from inside the stadium.
The horns wouldn’t be as iconic as they were had it not been for Diaz’s takeover this year. He has an impressive 26 saves to his credit while averaging 18.1 penalties per nine runs and also has a 1.39 ERA and a junior 0.86 WHIP in the year as well.
What makes it even better is that the Mets look like legitimate rivals, which is something fans crave. They have the second best record in baseball and are doing well on their way to closing out the NL East by seven games over the Braves.
So keep the trumpets ringing, because it’s a party in New York now, Timmy’s appearance night is liking, and hopefully it will last long after that.
