Padres star Fernando Tates Jr. will reportedly be suspended for violating MLB’s anti-drug policy as he was nearing his comeback.
Any San Diego Padres fan has been eagerly awaiting the return of Fernando Tates Jr. so he can join Juan Soto, Josh Bale and Manny Machado in the all-star squad that just got their hearts broken.
On Friday night, ESPN’s Jeff Bassan was the first to report Tatis’ suspension after violating MLB’s anti-drug policy.
FanSided’s Robert Murray bolstered the reports, noting that Tatis will be suspended for 80 games after testing positive for Clostebol.
Fernando Tates Jr. suspended 80 matches for using PED
Tates has been out all season after undergoing wrist surgery that took an unusually long time to heal until he’s still out.
Recently, he has been progressing very well and has started his own rehab stint in the minor leagues where he has been performing well, which has increased anticipation for his comeback among Padres fans.
Now, that will be delayed because Tates will not play this season and the start of the next because he serves an 80-match ban.
