PFL Playoffs: Rory McDonald vs Delano Taylor Live Scores [UPDATED]
For the first time in its history, the PFL passed through the pond. The Cardiff Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales, will host the second card of the PFL postseason – a card that has gone through some notable changes to the daily fighting road.
The new main event will see Rory MacDonald compete in a welterweight semi-final against Delano Taylor. MacDonald was scheduled to face Magomed Umalatov, but Umalatov ended up being one of the many fighters who would have to miss the event due to visa issues.
McDonald’s in the NFL this season saw them score in the first round of Brett Cooper and lose to Sadiebo C via unanimous decision. McDonald also reached the semifinals last year, losing to Ray Cooper, the then defending champion who kept repeating.
After earning a spot on the 2022 PFL roster by defeating Doctor Mark Martin in the PFL Challenger Series, Taylor scored a decision win over Joao Zeferino before being stopped by 2018 welterweight champion Magomed Magomedkerimov.
The other welterweight semi-final, which will open the card, will see Sy face Carlos Leal.
The heavyweight semi-finals will see Ante Delia and Renan Ferreira co-main event. Delia, who reached the finals of the heavyweight championship last year before losing to Bruno Capellosa, scored victories over Matthews Scheffel and Shelton Greaves to return to the playoffs. Meanwhile, Ferreira’s regular season saw him defeat Jamal Jones but lose to Claison Abreu.
Capelloza was scheduled to face Denis Goltsov in another heavyweight semi-final, but injury and visa, respectively, changed that match to UFC veteran Juan Adams facing Chevelle.
