The Dallas Cowboys surprised the NFL world with some last-minute cuts to their roster to reduce their number to 53 players on August 30.

The Dallas Cowboys have released their final list of 53 players, which includes such notable players as Dak Prescott, Ezequiel Elliott, Zach Martin, Micah Parsons and Travon Diggs.

Of course, there is a long list of players who did not make the cuts, including the outstanding corner back CJ GoodwinKicker predicts first week Brett Maher, and a large number of other talented players. Unfortunately, some players, such as the back corner unpolished Isaac Taylor Stewart, suffered pre-season injuries that make it easy on August 30th. Taylor Stewart will require surgery for an ankle injury, making his football career even more dangerous – a stark contrast to where Tyron Smith ranks on the list due to his offensive capabilities. .

Rolling cuts are never easy, nor is the task of predicting them all correctly. With that being said, here are three of the most surprising cuts the Cowboys made to craft their 53-man list.

Cooper Rush, QB

The biggest title to come out of the Cowboys’ roster cuts has been the fact that the team is only rolling with Dak Prescott this season.

This means Cooper Rush, who does not qualify for waivers, is off the team but cannot be claimed by someone else.

The expectation is that the Cowboys will call a signal caller to join the coaching squad, as the 53-player squad is often a matter of rigging players into the IR, coaching staff etc. Still, it’s a tough reality for the two players spending the summer preparing behind Prescott in camp.
