It is not known when La Rosa will return. Meanwhile, bench coach Miguel Cairo serves as interim manager.
The situation began when Larsa had tests by a cardiologist in Chicago, who recommended that he miss Tuesday’s game. Then he was advised, after further tests, to consult cardiologists.
The news is certainly heartbreaking for many, and fans are taking to Twitter their sympathies for MLB’s oldest manager.
