Best and worst case scenario for 2022

Welcome to our FanSided NFL 2022 preview! It’s time to take a look at our crystal football and take a look at the Green Bay Packers’ season predictions.

You don’t have to listen closely to hear the clock ticking loudly in Green Bay. The Packers will be aiming to end their last bad playoff record in 2022 having suffered another heartbreaking post-season exit.

The Aaron Rodgers drama hasn’t dominated this season in the same way it did last year, but it’s not the cloud of Rodgers’ retirement looming and more than the growing sense of a lost age troubling the Cheeseheads.

Can the Packers finally reach the promised land again and send Rodgers into the sunset or will it be another year where the ride is fun but the bill is at the end of it all if it’s too tough?

Green Bay Packers 2021 season review

  • 1-4 record
  • 1st place in NFC North
  • He lost 13-10 to 49 seconds in the division round

The 2021 season The Packers followed a familiar pattern: a regular season team that was unstoppable but unable to advance in the playoffs. Green Bay hopes the improved defense will be enough to complete a top-tier attack and eventually end the Super Bowl drought.

Even though Aaron Rodgers won his second consecutive MVP and the Packers the top seed in the NFC, it all fell apart in the division round. The Green Bay defense put in its best performance of the year, but slow play off attack and awkward special teams proved to be the Packers’ failure.

Green Bay Packers 2022 NFL Class

  • 1st Street (22): Quay Walker, ILB / Georgia
  • Route 1 (28): Devonty White, DT/Georgia
  • 2nd Street (34): Christian Watson, WR / North Dakota
  • Route 3 (92): Sean Ryan, OL/UCLA

With several of the best wide receivers off the board, the Packers doubled down on defense by picking teammates Georgia Kwai Walker and Devonte White in the first round.

Walker is expected to start alongside De’Vondre Campbell and strengthen the Packers’ defense midfield. The part looked in preparation for the new season. White made a slower start, although he won’t be a regular start in 2022 given the team’s impressive defensive depth.

Interestingly, it wasn’t Christian Watson or Sean Ryan that impressed during the summer, but rather their mid-round pick in the same positions, Romeo Dobbs and Zach Tom. Doubs starred all summer long, showing excellent severing ability and tough hunting. He even got praise from Aaron Rodgers, which isn’t easy for the novice receiver.

Tom dominated in pre-season, showing his ability to play multiple positions along the offensive line. The beginning should not be far.

Green Bay Packers offense preview for the 2022 season

  • The main off-season additions
    • Sammy Watkins, WR
    • Christian Watson, WR
    • Romeo Dobbs,
    • Zack Tom
  • The largest factor of X: Allen Lazard, WR
  • wheel hum: Sammy Watkins, WR

Could the Green Bay crime have succeeded without Davante Adams? There are undoubtedly some major question marks to the attack, but it is not without talent.

Allen Lazard moves into the role of WR1. He’s not Adams, but he has thrived as a pioneering future before. In 2020, Lazard had six passes for 146 yards and a touchdown in a game that Adams missed.

The beams hoped that a team effort from the receiving wire would lead to a repeat of Adams’ production. New additions Sammy Watkins, Christian Watson and Romeo Dobbs have important roles to play.

One of its strengths is the hasty attack, powered by a mixture of thunder and lightning between Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. They both put in over 1,000 yards of scrimmage in 2021. The deadlifts have a good depth of running back too. Kylin Hill will start the season on the PUP roster but will be back at some point.

Watkins is a player to watch. He was signed to become the star guard for this offense. Can he stay healthy and produce consistently? we will see.

This crime is possible, but there are concerns. Do the Packers have enough in the wide receiver? Will the offensive line hold up if David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins miss the start of the season?

Packers defense preview for the 2022 season

  • The main off-season additions
    • Garan Reid, DT
    • Kwai Walker, D
    • Devonty White, D
  • The largest factor of X: Rashan Jari, LB
  • wheel hum: Darnell Savage, S

This may be the Packers’ most talented defense since 2010, when they last won the Super Bowl. Looking at the starting lineup, it is difficult to find many weaknesses.

It starts with a deep defensive streak led by Pro Bowler Kenny Clark and new additions Jarran Reed and Devonte Wyatt.

At the quarterback, the Packers have first team All-Pro De’Vondre Campbell and first-round pick Quay Walker. On Edge, Preston Smith is joined by star Rashan Gary.

The minor unit is perhaps the most talented. All-Pro Jaire Alexander is back from injury, leading a triple at full-back featuring Eric Stokes and Rasul Douglas. Stokes shone in his rookie year, while Douglas led the team with five interceptions.

The underrated safety duo of The Packers return for Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage for their fourth season together. However, Savage needs a year to recover after struggling in coverage last season. According to the Pro Football reviewer (link: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/SavaDa00.htm), Savage allowed a passer rating of 117.4 last season.

Depth is the only concern. Do the Packers have enough depth at the edge of the zigzag and rear back to cover injuries? This may be the real test of this defense. If yes, then we can look at the top three units.

Green Bay Packers 2022 Training Staff Overview

  • Coach: Matt LaFleur
  • About. coordinator: Adam Steinavic
  • Dave. coordinator: Joe Barry
  • The 2023 coach candidate: stenavich

Matt LaFleur was forced to reshuffle his crew after the out-of-season losses to Nathaniel Hackett and Luke Jetsey. LaFleur has made some smart overseas appointments, signing veteran special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia and bringing back Tom Clements as quarterback coach.

But it all starts with LaFleur, who names the plays.

Adam Stenavić impressed as an offensive line coach from 2019-20, before adding a running games coordinator to his job title last year. He is now the Packers attack coordinator. His next stop could be a head coach somewhere in the NFL.

Watch the 2022 Green Bay Packers Awards

Aaron Rodgers, best player

Rodgers is the winning back-to-back player of the year. It aims to tie Peyton Manning’s record for five Most Valuable Player Awards, as well as matching Brett Favre’s record three times in a row.

Rashan Gary, Defensive Player of the Year

Gary enjoyed a breakout season with 9.5 sacks and 28 quarterback strokes. According to the Pro Football Reference (link: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2021/defense_advanced.htm), it ranks within the top five for rushing, pressing and quarterbacks. The scary part is that Gary looks better this year after a dominant summer.

Romeo Dobbs, Offensive Rookie of the Year Award

Outside of a few drops, Doubs has been flawless this summer. He’s constantly gaining breakouts, can achieve an incredible 50/50 catch, and quickly earn Aaron Rodgers’ trust. With Davante Adams gone, there are a lot of goals for you to do. If Doubs continues to impress him, he could land a feature role in Matt LaFleur’s crime.

Biggest game on the Green Bay Packers schedule in 2022

That’s easy: Packers vs. Rams, Week 15.

The defending Super Bowl champion visits Lambeau Stadium on a frozen December evening under the lights. The Packers have had the best of the Rams in the past two seasons, but this could be a classic. Late in the season, it could be a top seed fight.

Predicting the Green Packers season: Best case scenario

It’s a Super Bowl-or-bust for the Packers. They paid money in the coming years to maintain the championship roster. With Aaron Rodgers reaching the final stage of his career, this may be the players’ last shot while that window is open.

The best case scenario is to see Green Bay’s defense live up to the hype and rank near the top of the league. On the offensive, the Packers get a breakout season from either Christian Watson or Romeo Doubs, similar to Ja’Marr Chase or Justin Jefferson in recent years.

A combination of dominant defense and hot running from Aaron Rodgers sees the Packers finally win another championship.

Predicting the Green Bay Packers season: worst case scenario

Crime falls apart without Davante Adams. The young receiver struggles for consistency and the Packers fail to consistently put points on the board. Even worse, Aaron Rodgers is injured. This would quickly derail any Super Bowl dreams.

Defensively, injuries are the only real concern. If they suffer a similar misfortune to what happened in 2020 49, the lack of depth in key positions could spell disaster.

Green Bay Packers 2022 season predictions

  • 12-5 record
  • 1st place in NFC North
  • win the super bowl

The Packers won the Super Bowl in 2010 on the back of Aaron Rodgers postseason dominance and a dominant defense. Plug there for a similar year.

In 2010, Green Bay’s defense ranked fifth. It has only ranked inside the top 10 twice since then (No. 9 defending in 2020 and 2021).

A former MVP winner, Rodgers shows no signs of waning and is on top of his game. But perhaps for the first time in his career, Green Bay will win many games in defense.

Of the 11 starters expected in defense, three are All-Pros or Pro Bowlers. Seven were first-round picks and two were from the second round. The only player who doesn’t fit into any of these categories is Adrian Amos, one of the most consistent safety gear in the NFL.

On the offensive front, the Packers have a superb full-back duo, recovering All-Pro David Bakhtiari and Pro Bowler Elgton Jenkins five times from injury along their offensive line.

Oh, and they also have Aaron Rodgers.
