Dana White’s Contender series returns for another night of action-packed combat on Tuesday. One fighter to watch for week seven is Vitor Petrino.
Sixth week of Dana White Competition Series It ended in spectacular fashion with Yusaku Kinoshita knocking out José Henrique in the third round by knockout, which resulted in him being awarded a UFC contract. In Week 7, 10 fighters compete for one of these prestigious contracts for a chance to wow the big boss himself, Dana White. One fighter to watch is Vitor Petrino.
From Minas Gerais, Brazil, 25-year-old ‘ICAO’ Petrino Salvo (6-0) is rated as topologyNo. 30 active lightweight heavyweight outside of Brazil. Of his six wins, five have come by knockout, and four in the first round. He has previously fought in promotions such as UAE Warriors, Max Fight, and Adventure Fighters Tournament.
In the seventh DWCS week, Petrino will face fellow Brazilian lightweight Rodolfo Pilato (8-1). Bellato is ranked No. 19 in Brazil, 11 points behind Salvo. Despite this, Bellato comes in as a +165 underdog against the less experienced Petrino. That’s because Pilato’s only career loss was in 2019 against Petrino, who he finished with KO just 25 seconds into the first round.
Rodolfo Pellato’s only professional loss was to Vitor Petrino at Max Fight 22 in 2019
These two Brazilian lightweights will face off again in the main event of DWCS Week 7 in a battle likely to transform their careers. Other Week 7 matches include Welterweight Gabriel Bonfim against Tree Waters, heavyweight Jimmy Lawson against Kevin Zaflarsky, lightweight Ismael Bonfim against Nariman Abbasov, and women’s lightweight Teresa Bleda against Nyara Maya.
