Troubles weren’t plentiful to start the season, but our picks for college football for Week Two suggest a storm could break out.
Until Florida beat Utah in The Swamp (the one we picked) on the first full Saturday of the 2022 college football season, we were heading completely zero in the first week. Of course, other disruptions occurred, even on Labor Day with Florida edging out LSU in a wild game as the underdogs. But if the sport has taught us anything over the years, it’s never to trust the calm before the storm.
But this storm won’t land in some places in college football’s second week. As much the noise of the Alabama-Texas game gets, Crimson Tide is unbeatable, even in Austin. Meanwhile, Kentucky Florida has been tight lately, but the comment of the feral cats got me thinking the Gators have an advantage too strong to be on the alert all of a sudden.
So what teams are leaving us at risk of relegation this week? These are our five picks for Week Two Football and the teams we’re keeping an eye on.

5. Arkansas Razorbacks
Opponent: South Carolina | Time: Saturday, September 10, noon ET | Spread: ARK -8.5
Sam Pittman’s Hogs opened the year with a big win over Cincinnati in Fayetteville that really established Arkansas to enjoy another step forward as a show. But the hardest part of that next step is taking it, and the Razorbacks have a tough spot in Week 2, even at home.
Admittedly, Spencer Rattler’s South Carolina debut was hardly what Gamecocks fans were hoping for, but he got the win, which is all that matters. Now the talented but inconsistent midfielder is on the road for his first SEC game but the match could be interesting.
Arkansas had several defensive appearances that left the game hurt against Cincinnati in the first week and their condition is a little high in the air. That’s when the Bearcats came back and made it a much closer game than it was before. South Carolina has the tools to play another game nearby and may make this game difficult for the pigs.
