The Alabama Crimson Tide avoided a massive disturbance at the hands of the Texas Longhorns thanks to a Heisman moment from quarterback Bryce Young.

guy, Who won the Heisman Award just last season, may be on his way to another. If he receives another invite to New York City at the end of the year, his run against Texas will surely be front and center.

The Texans left plenty of time on the clock after a field goal gave them the lead late in the fourth quarter. A minute or so is too long for a player like Young, who is expected to be among the top 10 (and possibly No. 1) players in next year’s NFL Draft.

Alabama can hold its first slot in the AP poll for now, while Texas still has more work to do. But it should serve as a reminder to all college football that on a bad day, this version of Crimson Tide can be beaten.

While Saban and Co. able to survive this round, the close match with the unranked Longhorns would serve as a warning to the team expected to make College Football Playoff relatively easier.

The Longhorns are supposed to get quite a few votes in this week’s AP poll, to say the least. They deserve a place somewhere in their twenties, especially with so many teams likely to fall early this year.

Even with the loss, it’s not a bad day to be a Texans football fan.
