Former Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was pleading with his former team to call a timeout late in the fourth quarter against the Seattle Seahawks.
It was the start of what was supposed to be an exciting season for the Denver Broncos. They got star quarterback Russell Wilson after a deal with the Seattle Seahawks to help bring them back to the playoffs. Denver had the chance to defeat Seattle in their first win of the season.
Instead, the Seahawks defeated the Broncos 17-16. The game’s story will undoubtedly be Denver’s last drive for the game. Facing fourth and fifth near the midfield, the Broncos had all three time-outs at their disposal. Instead, head coach Nathaniel Hackett let the match clock drop to under 30 seconds.

If you thought that decision was baffling, Hackett made another decision to really make Broncos fans’ heads spin.
Hackett chose not to give the ball to Wilson, who the team granted him a $245 million contract extension and made some amazing plays throughout his career, in favor of kicker Brandon McManus trying to score a 64-yard field goal. The kick was not good.
McManus made one field goal attempt over 60 yards in his career in seven attempts prior to Monday night. Now, it’s one for eight.
This will be a loss that will stay with the Broncos all week. They have a chance to put it behind them with a convincing victory over the Houston Texans in the first week.
