The Green Bay Packers adjust to life without Davante Adams. This means that Aaron Rodgers has to take his game to another level.
As easy as it would be to blame those around him – and Rodgers tried, trust us – he’s 12th to improve his game and adapt to those around him.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the ways Rodgers can up his game before Week Two, when Green Bay faces the Chicago Bears. Rodgers has previously claimed to “own” the Lakers’ biggest rival, and it’s easy to see why — the stats don’t lie. But the second week presents a dangerous scenario for Green Bay.
If the Packers lose, they will lose two games behind the Bears (and possibly the Vikings), while both teams will have a head-to-head advantage. This cannot happen.
Aaron Rodgers Improvements: Run the ball more
Running into Green Bay may be the only positive result from their first offensive week’s performance.
The beams averaged 6.2 yards per lunge, recording their only touchdown in the process. Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon both looked like legitimate threats to break the score at any moment, with Jones averaging nearly 10 yards per carry.
the problem? Well, Matt LaFleur & Co. ran the ball on only 18 occasions. A lot of that had to do with the nature of the game, of course. The beams came down early and often. But if Rodgers wants to secure a week two win over Chicago, they must trust their running game, especially as the young recipients continue to gain their feet.
Adams does not walk through that door. In the meantime, Jones and Dillon can be trusted.
