Ozzie Albies is back in time to push the Braves after the season ends

Ozzie Albies is successfully returning to the Atlanta Braves lineup this weekend.

After a three-month absence from play due to a broken leg, Ozzie Albies’ return to the Atlanta Braves squad is exactly what the World Championship champions need in their post-season boost, as well as in their title defense.

Albis has been rehab with Triple-A Gwinnett recently. He was called up to the Big League roster on Friday morning after being brought back from the injured list. As far as corresponding moves are concerned, right-handed relief Jay Jackson has been assigned the task, while Ihair Adrianza has been put on the 10-day injury list with a strain in his left quadriceps.

The hitter must hit the center of the Atlanta standings and play second base for the Braves.

The Braves clearly couldn’t be happier with Silver Slugger’s return to the starting lineup.

Of course, this move makes Braves’ loaded roster even deeper and more dangerous.

Atlanta Braves: Ozzie Albies’ return to the Big League roster comes at a perfect time

While Atlanta is more out of the water with Albiz waning with Orlando Arcia taking charge initially and then junior sensation von Grissom rising to the occasion when Arcia struggled with a hamstring injury, the Braves are a better team with Albis in the lineup. Defensively, he has a great relationship with Dansby Swanson. In addition, Albies has amazing strength.

Even if the first leg isn’t at 100 percent, Albis’ return takes the pressure off the other key players on the roster. Swanson, first baseman Matt Olson, and third baseman Austin Riley play every day, so the season’s erosion is real. The Grissom racket and overall athletic performance will keep it on the list going forward. He might have to start playing some left field now that the Albies are officially back.

Albis’ return will also provide his best buddy Ronald Acuna Jr. with some relief as he grinds through the rest of the season on his tired knee. Acuña can still practice DH and play on proper pitch once in a while, plus get a few days off in between to recover and try to stay fresh. Albis’ return also helps ease the burden on Robbie Grossman and Eddie Rosario who have to play every day.

While it doesn’t look like Atlanta will cut ties with Marcel Ozuna just yet, his playing time will dwindle further upon reintroducing Albis to the squad. If he is healthy to play, he will play Albis. This also forces Director Brian Snitker to find new and creative ways to get Grissom into the squad. It also helps the tandem get a break, too.

One of the best teams in baseball just got back one of its best players in extended runs.
