17-year-old Raul Rosas Jr. impresses in Dana White’s competition series.
This week from Dana White Competition Series It was talked about for one fighter in particular. One of the season’s most talked about fighters, 17-year-old Raul Rosas, Jr., is undefeated with all the finishes he’s had in this fight with Mando Gutierrez (7-1, six finishes, all orders).
The first round started with flashy throwing combos by Rosas and spin back kicks before taking Gutierrez to the mat. After holding onto Gutierrez’s back and nearly finishing it with a Soluev stretch, Gutierrez reversed the situation and finished the round in front.
Round two started with Rosas forging a knee and securing another takedown, but he was unable to lock anything as both fighters moved throughout the round. Round three started by removing Gutierrez before Rosas ended up in front and landed some ground and pounds. Rosas dominated the back for the rest of the round and scored the unanimous winning decision. It was a great start for the teen and you have to wonder if he’ll ever get a development contract or not.
The Dana White competition series takes place on Tuesday nights from the UFC APEX and is broadcast live on ESPN+. Follow along with FanSided MMA, on site for scores and highlights.
