Aaron Pico thinks Bo Nickal will “do great things” in MMA

Aaron Biko had some important words for his close friend, Bo Nikal as he prepared for his UFC debut.

Aaron Biko steps into the Bellator cage for the 14th time in the Bellator 286. In six years, he has set an impressive 10-3 record but hasn’t quite reached the level of a title contender yet. Biko was once seen as a “hot opportunity” in mixed martial arts with the whole world in front of him. Now, this label stuck to Bo Nickal as he set the UFC on fire. Biko is familiar to Nikal in ways that not many in the MMA are familiar with and has some important words for his friend.

“I love Bo Nikal,” Biko said when interviewing Amy Kaplan of FanSided MMA. “We have been on three world teams together. I know him very well through wrestling. He is a hard worker and comes from a really good family.”

Biko understands what it means to be ranked at the top of the list of candidates

Back in 2017, Beko was the prospect many expected to make his way into a chance at Bellator Gold. That wouldn’t be the case as Zach Freeman sent him off in style highlighting a reel in the Bellator 180. Picot would claim the following victories, but after being knocked out of back-to-back fights in 2019, many wondered if he raced too soon. Biko looked at his experience and gave advice to Nikal.

“Take your time. Enjoy the moment. Enjoy the process,” Biko said. “Just focus. I don’t think Nikal will not be central. He has a really good team around him, but more importantly, he has a strong family.”

After two quick Contender Series performances by Dana White, Nickal already had his UFC debut at UFC 282 when he faces Jamie Pickett on December 10. With three professional fights on his resume so far, none of his opponents lasted more than 62 seconds in the cage, leading many fans and professional fighters alike to describe Nickal as the best prospect in the industry, a label Pico remembers.

“I think he’d do great things,” Biko said. “I support him and hope he becomes the world champion.”

Bellator 286: Pitbull vs Borics takes place on Saturday, October 1, 2022, live from the Long Beah Arena, in Long Beach, California. Follow up with FanSided MMA for all the news and highlights.
