Kentucky QB Will Levis continues to play despite a serious finger injury

One missing finger is never a problem for Kentucky Wildcats star quarterback Will Levis.

Even though his finger was pointing in a direction it should never have been, Will Levis was still out there throwing it for the Kentucky Wildcats in their massive game on the road against the Ole Miss Rebels.

The UK signal caller had dislocated the middle finger on his left hand early in the match. While Levis throws his oath, the foul number may be a problem with being able to receive the snap below the center, or even catch the ball with the shotgun. Either way, Kentucky has relied heavily on running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. since Levis suffered a horrific injury to one of his fingers.

The only thing bolder than Levis’ finger is the type of food that banana mayonnaise drinkers consume.

No, a finger injury won’t take Levis off the field in this one. He should be dragged off the field with an injury much worse than this. This is #7 at 14th in the SEC undefeated race. While the Wildcats and Rebels play in the same divisions as the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs and No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide respectively, the winner of this game feels six early New Year’s.

Could you upset Kentucky or Miss Georgia and Alabama later in the season? Possible, but don’t count on it. The catch though is that both teams have fantastic chances of winning double-digit matches in consecutive years. Kentucky needed a Citrus Bowl win over Iowa to get there, while the Ole Miss was headed to the Sugar Bowl against Baylor last holiday season.

After all, there’s a lot more to Levis than playing in college football. If he fights through a tough game like this at Oxford, he’ll be a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The stats might not do him justice, but arm talent, composure and other intangibles will make him one of the top four quarterbacks next spring. If he plays by the standards, he will be gold.

Will Levis’ legend grows in a nanosecond as college football fans fall in love.
