3 Teams That Don’t Deserve To Touch The College Football Rankings Again This Year

These three teams ended up on the losing end of week five of the college football season, and they shouldn’t be in the AP Top 25 for the rest of the year.

Every week college football fans watch the games and take their guesses on who will remain in the AP Top 25 rankings, and who will come out.

In the fifth week, there wasn’t as much turmoil as the start of the season. However, there were some losses from teams that proved they should never have made it to the AP rankings for the top 25 all-time.

Here are three teams that should not touch the standings for the rest of the season:

3. Sooner Oklahoma

Remember when Oklahoma’s next team seemed to be in great shape during the first three weeks of the season? Yes, those were some fun times, but they are long gone.

In week four, Oklahoma suffered its first loss of the season, falling to the Kansas State Wildcats. They had the opportunity to bounce back by winning the TCU Horned Frogs. This did not happen. In fact, the match ended with half of the first half.

The Horned Frogs set off in a 55-24 victory over Oklahoma. The offense scored 41 points and gained 479 yards from the offense in the first half. This offense was directed by offensive coordinator Garrett Riley, younger brother of former Sooners coach Lincoln Riley.

Oklahoma’s defense hasn’t improved under new coach Brent Venables, and that has dragged the team down in two games. Things won’t get any easier for Oklahoma, as they face the Texas Longhorns in Week 6, and then the undefeated Kansas Jayhawks in Week 7.
