Twitter has officially confirmed that Bailey Zappe is Mac Jones’ doppelgänger.
New England Patriots announce Prior to the Week 4 game against the Green Bay Packers, Mac Jones who started the current quarterback was judged inactive with an ankle injury he sustained in last week’s competition against the Ravens.
Longtime substitute Brian Hoyer was named quarterback in Jones’ absence, but his first start since 2020 didn’t go according to plan, as he was knocked out of the game in the first quarter only with a head injury.
After Hoyer’s departure, the third series QB Bailey Zappe He was made his first appearance in the NFL Having been selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft earlier this year. To many long-time Patriots fans, this moment may have seemed like a déjà vu, as the legendary QB started with Tom Brady’s career name in a similar fashion after starting his 2000 season as the fourth quarterback.
Once Zappe settled down, many around the Twitterverse began to come to the conclusion that it might just be Mac Jones in a different uniform.

The resemblance between 23-year-old Zappie and 24-year-old Jones is very strange and funny.
While the Patriots ended up losing the game in overtime to the Packers, there was Some encouraging signs from the rising midfielderA performance that might make Jones’ potential long-term loss easier to swallow for Bats fans. The former Western Kentucky Hilltopper ended up going 10 for 15 in the contest, good for 99 yards and a passing touchdown as well.
Whether Zappe is just Mac Jones’ intimidating doppelgänger or a reliable QB1 option in his own right remains to be seen, but for now, we can all share laughs at how oddly similar they are.
