The Tampa Bay Rays are heading into the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season, but they have to tackle the Wild Card series this year.
After winning the American Eastern League title in each of the last two seasons, the Tampa Bay Rays are back in the playoffs but this time, they are the third AL Wild Card team with a record of 86-76.
As a result, they will face the Cleveland Guardians in Cleveland’s Best of Three Wild Card series to determine who will advance to the ALDS to face the New York Yankees.
Tampa Bay Rays fixtures
Since the Rays don’t have a goodbye in the aforementioned Wild Card Tour, they will play their first playoff game on Friday, October 7. Games will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with all three games in Cleveland.
Due to the shutdown to start the season, the regular season schedule has been changed slightly to accommodate all 162 matches and the post-season is no different.
If the Rays arrive at ALDS and play in all five games, they will play on October 11, October 13, October 15, October 16 and October 17. But there will be no travel day between Matches 4 and 5 as in previous years. For AL, they will have days off after Game 2 and Game 3.
If the Rays reach the ALCS, they will start playing October 19 through October 26, if they play all seven games. They will have a travel day between Games 2 and 3 but not between Games 5 and 6, unlike in previous years.
If they make it to the World Championships, the usual 2-3-2 schedule will remain the same and the travel days will remain as well (after Game 2 and after Game 5). The World Championships begins on October 28 and ends no later than November 5.

For the Wild Card series, Rays will play their games on ESPN (Friday and Sunday) and ESPN2 (Saturday). Friday and Saturday will be at 12:07 PM ET and Sunday (if needed) will play at 4:07 PM ET
If they make it to ALDS, the games will be on TBS and they will also be on TBS if they make it to the ALCs. If Rays makes it to the World Championships, all games will be on FOX.
