Alec Manoah’s stress quote looks totally foolish after only days

His high school coach used to say, “Stress is something you put in your tires.” As it turns out, this funny quote is back to haunt him.

Manoah was withdrawn in the sixth inning, after surrendering four earned runs over four strokes.

Blue Jays: Alec Manoah’s “pressure” quote is poorly presented

The crest of the first half was rough for Manoah. On the fourth court, Manoah hit Mariners rookie Julio Rodriguez with a pitch. Rodriguez was later brought home on an RBI double by Eugenio Suarez. The next minute, Manoah surrendered his header from two rounds to Cal Rally to extend Seattle’s lead to 3-0 with just one scoring.

At the top of the fifth game, Manoah ceded his fourth game after Suarez hit him hard allowing Rodriguez to score.

Jason Stark of The Athletic revealed an interesting statistic. Throughout the regular season, Manoah only conceded one home run and four extra base hits while facing 133 hitters in the first inning. But in his first post-season appearance, he gave up one home run and two key strikes after facing six players.

Manoah’s day finished with 5.2 runs, recording four strokes and one walk.

The Blue Jays lost the match 1 4-0. They will face the Sailors in Game Two on Saturday, October 8th.
