Does Texas A&M have any chance of annoying Alabama again?

After last year’s massive upset at College Station, it will take more than a prayer or two for Texas A&M to compile a winning streak over its rival in the Western Division of Alabama.

Not to say last year’s stunning home upset was a fluke, but don’t count on Texas A&M’s victory over Alabama in back-to-back seasons.

Although Jimbo Fisher was Nick Saban’s first former code-breaker, we haven’t seen anything from the Aggies that leads us to believe they could make it two in a row on Crimson Tide. It might be primetime, but it’s in the Death Star known as Bryant-Denny Stadium. Alabama might be beatable, but it would be shocking if they fell here.

This is why anything short of a Crimson Tide victory should be cause for concern.

Alabama Football: Don’t expect Texas A&M to bother Carmson Tide here

Although Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young is the game-time decision for Saturday, Jalen Millroe is more than capable of guiding Crimson Tide to victory here. He did just that against Arkansas in Fayetteville before back-to-back Jammer Gibbs took over the game in the fourth quarter. Not only that, but Texas A&M is dealing with some major issues in the quarterback…

With the LSU transfer, Max Johnson broke his hand, and may have finished his first season at College Station, it means he’ll be Haynes King’s show again for the Aggies. Despite being an athletic midfielder, throwing soccer balls on the field has never been his forte. This is a great way to not defeat Alabama in the place of cult football. You have to make plays!

Even if Alabama was pushed to the brink by Texans earlier in the season, as well as had problems with Arkansas for the better part of the game last weekend, Texans A&M is nowhere near their level. This is the Aggies who lost at home to the Appalachian State and were pushed by the Mississippi State on the road in Starkville. It would be shocking if they went 8-4.

Then again, we’ve seen other high-quality teams like Alabama have trouble putting away fewer opponents. Ohio State struggled offensively against the Notre Dame team before we knew Notre Dame was nothing special. It’s been two weeks since we’ve seen Georgia outrun the opposition, with Dogs having trouble keeping Kent State out of the end zone and later scoring points in Missouri.

Ultimately, troublesome Texas A&M in Alabama will be the most shocking result of the SEC season to date, perhaps in all of college football. Look, this game is a character for Crimson Tide. Their only regular season loss was a year ago. Fisher and Saban were some of the most publicized beef during the holiday season. This Alabama game is definitely about the calendar.

For Texas A&M to win, the Aggies must play an A-plus match and get a C effort from Alabama.
