The Cleveland Guardians won the Wild Card series just one home tour, but listeners on SiriusXM couldn’t hear it after the broadcast stopped.
The Cleveland Guardians won the Wild Card Series against the Tampa Bay Rays after a long game with no 15 innings. The game lasted for about five hours without any movement, so it was definitely a disappointment to fans who tuned in to SiriusXM when the broadcast went silent and missed Homer Cleveland’s call to take victory.
Fortunately, Twitter hardly fails to provide what is missing. Timothy Burke introduced Tom Hamilton’s radio call in a video tweet of Cleveland celebrating his victory.
Hamilton exclaimed excitedly, “He’s gone! Hello New York! Oscar Gonzalez sends The Guardians to The Division Series!”
It was a really beautiful moment for the sick fans who watched the five-hour match. Now the Guardians will face the New York Yankees at ALDS.
The Guardians will take on the Yankees for ALDS
The Guardians haven’t had the best history with the Yankees this season. They only won one regular season game against New York, so they will likely struggle to pass the ALDS.
However, it is not beyond the realm of possibilities. The playoffs are a lot of pressure, and sometimes teams suffocate because of it. Statistically, the Yankees are more solid and have a greater chance of advancement, but there is no guarantee.
This is the first time Cleveland has gone into the ALDS system since 2018, so he’s really managed to go further than he normally does. It’s a feat no matter how far they go, and Guardians fans sure have a lot to be proud of as the post-season progresses.
