Velez star Jose Alvarado puts Braves on alert after winning the first match

They talk about themselves, especially in recent times, and arguably the best Phillies relief pitcher heading into the playoffs. Heredia’s attempt to quit his game was ultimately unsuccessful, as Phils was able to take Game 1.

Velez: Jose Alvarado calls out Braves Guillermo Heredia

“I said hello, [be quiet]Alvarado said, per Alex Covey of Athletic. “Everyone is thinking, I want to attack Alvarado, but right now, no one can change my mentality. Nobody. I am focused. When we come into the game, I come to score. I don’t care who hits. Hit one, hit two and good luck.”

While that situation appears to be contained for now, Alvarado spoke to Heredia before the match in one of two ways. Either Heredia is receptive to what Alvarado has to say, given that the two shared a club with Rays back in 2019, or it could backfire.

In the end, there are more important events to absorb in this series. Alvarez would have preferred to put this behind him, but it was worth voicing said grievances to let the brave know he can’t be tampered with on the hill – at least not in the way he currently promotes.
