Should Tennessee be No. 1 after beating Alabama?

Tennessee’s runaway victory over Alabama would give voters plenty to think about as the Volunteers snatch arguably the most impressive win of the season.

The Securities and Exchange Commission introduced Game of the Year as Tennessee toppled Alabama for the first time since 2006.

The Volunteers dominated Crimson Tide in the first half but had to fight to the last second to overcome the discomfort.

Hendon Hooker reached out to Bru McCoy when the clock ticked to set up Chase McGrath’s field goal to win with time up.

With fans flocking to the square, voters had to ask themselves, where should the order of volunteers be now?

Tennessee was so great on Saturday, they deserve to jump all the way up to No. 2.

Ohio State fans may be upset by that, but the Buckeyes will have a chance to reclaim their rankings later in the year. For now, the volunteers have proven to be real.

Georgia’s win over Vanderbilt should keep him in pole position. They only have a real contender for that mountaintop spot now that Tennessee Monkeys have gotten off their backs with the tide.

Alabama’s defense looks questionable, but they still have to secure a place in the top five after the fight and take Tennessee to the brink at Niland.
