Aaron Donald and Jaylen Brown leave Kanye West’s Donda Sports after rapper’s anti-Semitic comments

Los Angeles Rams defensive line Aaron Donald and Boston Celtics forward Jaylene Brown have split from rapper Kanye West’s Donda Sports after his anti-Semitic comments.

Rapper Yi, formerly known as Kanye West, has been in the news for the past two weeks due to his anti-Semitic statements. West has also seen the termination of multiple partnerships, including the Creative Arts Agency (CAA) on Monday and Adidas on Tuesday.

Hours after Adidas announced the end of their partnership with West, Los Angeles Rams defensive line Aaron Donald announced he was ending his relationship with West’s marketing agency Donda Sports on Twitter in a joint statement with his wife Erica.

Around the same time, Boston Celtics striker Jaylene Brown also announced that he was ending his relationship with Donda Sports.

“Our family has made the decision to separate from Donda Sports,” Donald’s statement read. “The recent comments and displays of hate and anti-Semitism are the opposite of how we choose to live our lives and raise our children. We find them irresponsible and contradict everything we believe in as a family…”

Brown told the Boston Globe earlier on Monday He condemns West’s comments, but will stay with the agency. A day later, Brown announced that he had reached the decision to separate from Donda Sports.

“Over the past 24 hours, I have been able to reflect on and better understand how my previous statements lack clarity in expressing my position against recent insensitive public statements and actions,” Brown wrote. “Therefore, I apologise. And in this, I endeavor to be as clear as possible. I have always been, and always will be, firmly opposed to any anti-Semitism, hate speech, misrepresentation and repressive rhetoric of any kind.”

Brown joined Donda Sports back in March of 2022. Donald signed with the agency back in May.

West has made several anti-Semitic remarks over the past two weeks. On Twitter, West said he was going to “Death Con 3 on the Jewish People”. Because of the anti-Semitic comments he made on social media, he was suspended by Twitter and Instagram.

The rapper also made similar statements during an interview in early October, in which he announced “I can say anti-Semitic things and Adidas won’t give up on me. What now?”

There have been calls for companies to end their partnerships with West after photos surfaced of individuals holding them A sign above a Los Angeles highway reads “I was right about the Jews.”

Balenciaga, GAP, and Vogue cut ties with West over his comments.
