By forming the contract with Black America, Ice Cube has promoted economic equality, and the NFL partnership is a major step forward in achieving this agenda.
During the 2020 election, Entertainer Ice Cube created the Contract with Black America (CWBA), a political platform that he hoped would win support among all politicians. The primary goal of this effort was to pay more money to black-owned businesses, empower black communities, and promote greater economic equality.
Over the summer, Ice Cube got a major partner to sign on that agenda – the NFL. As part of the deal, the association agreed to allocate more than $100 million to CWBA-compliant businesses and organizations. in that Press release, the NFL stated:
The collaboration focuses on identifying university-level opportunities in the financial, technology, and productivity sectors, with an emphasis on increasing direct and indirect spending on national black businesses to help close America’s racial and economic wealth gap.

This partnership with the NFL is a victory for the CWBA. Ice Cube has sought partnerships with other major sports leagues, including MLS, MLB, and NBA. But the NFL is, to date, the only major league to have signed the CWBA. Al-Douri argued that he signed this contract for several reasons.
Driven by a strong internal commitment to diversify the NFL’s commercial partnerships with organizations such as the CWBA, the league has spent and committed $125 million with Black-owned and operated companies such as Ariel Investments, CityFirst/Broadway Bank, Cover Communications and Fearless Technology over the past year.
Although this important announcement over the summer garnered some media attention, Ice Cube could face criticism that he has dropped or neglected the CWBA since the last election, because on Friday he took to Twitter to remind fans of the partnership.
