Ezekiel Elliott raises helmets thanks to cowboys

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezequiel Elliott showed off the throwback helmets the team will wear in the Thanksgiving game against the New York Giants.

The Dallas Cowboys are having a really great season, managing to win four of their five games with quarterback Dak Prescott out through injury. The main factor is their stifling and controlling defense. Entering Week 9, Dallas holds the 6-2 record and second place in the NFC East in a tie with the New York Giants.

Speaking of the Giants, the Cowboys are set to play them for the second time this season. The rivalry game will be in the spotlight in the afternoon, with AT&T Stadium hosting the game on Thanksgiving Day.

Cowboys were to wear their uniforms for that game. Ezekiel Elliott, running backwards, posted a tease of the uniform on his Instagram story. Specifically, share a picture of the helmets they’ll be wearing for that game.

The NFL announced this season that it will allow teams to wear alternate helmets. So, the Cowboys jumped at the opportunity by bringing back their white helmets, complete with a navy blue star and two stripes along the top. The helmets will match the team jerseys they wore in the 1960s.

Earlier this year, the Cowboys and Giants faced Monday Football Night, with the latter donning their colorful uniforms, inspired by their 1980s uniforms. The Cowboys managed to hand the Giants their first defeat of the season, 23-16. The Dallas defense pressed quarterback Daniel Jones as he pleased, hitting him 12 times and firing him five times.

Cowboy fans, there’s just under two weeks left to see the return of throwback helmets. Until then, Dallas will face the Green Bay Packers in Week 10 and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11 before facing the Giants at Thanksgiving.
