An Alabama employee spotted a police escort outside the field after LSU fans confronted him

An Alabama Crimson Tide employee needed a police escort to help him off the field after LSU fans prevented him from leaving.

Alabama Crimson Tide’s chances of making the College Football Playoff took a big hit in Week 10. With the LSU Tigers facing off, Alabama forced overtime and managed to advance 31-24. The problem was that the Tigers immediately scored a 25-yard touchdown straight by quarterback Jaden Daniels, converting two points to take the 32-31 win.

Once the two-point conversion was successful, LSU fans stormed the field at Tiger Stadium. When Alabama walked off the field, a staff member had a hard time doing so, because a fan was stopping and confronting him.

The employee is Ivan van Nostrand, in Casagrande. Van Nostrand is the Assistant Director of Player, Personality and Career Development in Alabama.

Officers on the field were able to create a path to the locker room, where a fan was still trying to get to Van Nostrand’s face.

As for the game, Crimson Tide was in a competitive home and away match against the Tigers. The team was secured 21-17 in the fourth quarter in a stunning display by quarterback Bryce Young, who escaped from his tight pocket and threw 41 yards to Ja’Corey Brooks.

Daniels responded with less than two minutes remaining in regulation, connecting with Mason Taylor for a seven-yard touchdown to take the lead 24-21. However, Alabama was able to reach the goal range, which Will Richard succeeded in his 46-yard attempt to force overtime. Unfortunately for Crimson Tide, he didn’t finish with a victory.

Alabama now awaits their fate to see where they fall in the College Football Playoff rankings after suffering their second loss of the season.
