Alabama needs these 5 miracles to get into the college football game

The Alabama Crimson Tide would need about five miracles to happen for them to make it to College Football Playoff.

The Alabama Crimson Tide lost their first game of the season to the Tennessee Volunteers, 52-49. For Crimson Tide, they had to avoid losing another game to get a clear path to College Football Playoff. But in Week 10, it didn’t, they lost 32-31 to the LSU Tigers.

In the second ranking released by College Football Playoff, Crimson Tide dropped to ninth, after placing sixth the week before.

Given that Crimson Tide had two losses in the year, they came out of the cut-off picture, right? Well, there might be a shot, but they would need five miracles to happen.

Miracles Alabama needs to make it to the College Football Playoff

1. Chaos in Western SEC

As previously reported, LSU upset Alabama after coach Brian Kelly called in to convert two points in overtime, and quarterback Jayden Daniels made a successful pass to Mason Taylor. But, LSU’s fall to the sprawl could help clear the way for Alabama.

Let’s say, if the Tigers lose to both the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Texas A&M Aggies, that should clear the way for Alabama to reach the SEC Championship game. Of course, Team Tide will have to win their last three games of the season against the Ole Miss Rebels, Austin Peay Governors, and Auburn Tigers.

Next, Tide had to defeat Georgia in the SEC title match.

2. PAC12 dismantles itself

Pac-12 is shaping up to be a stiff contender for the conference crown. The Oregon Ducks are ranked sixth in the latest rankings, with the University of Southern California Trojans ranking eighth. There must be chaos to benefit Alabama.

First things first, USC had to beat the UCLA Bruins in Week 12. However, they had to play Notre Dame in the season finale that gave Clemson his first loss of the season. So, the USC should lose that. But then the mayhem really begins if USC defeats Oregon in the main Pac-12 game.

Tidal fans, they rooted for chaos.

3. Tennessee loses to a South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Mizu

Alabama needs to root for the first team that beat them this season at Tennessee State to lose a game. The problem with that is that the volunteers have such an easy schedule for the last three weeks of the season.

Tennessee faces the Missouri Tigers in Week 11, the team that put Georgia on furious alert earlier in the season. Next, they face the South Carolina Gamecocks in Week 12. To finish their season, the Vols face the Vanderbilt Commodores, who have not won a game since September 17.

Alabama needs Tennessee to lose one of these games. But this may take a lot.

4. TCU Loses to Texas at Big-12

The Horned Frogs jumped from seventh to fourth in the latest rankings, as they are one of the only unbeaten teams in the country. They compete in the Big-12, famous for their close-up games. TCU is in a situation where if they lose one match, they can bounce back from the playoff competition altogether.

This week, The Horned Frogs take 18th at the Texas Longhorns in primetime. If they’re going to lose that match, say, lose to their opponent who has one of the two highest conference-game winning percentages in the Big-12 Championship, that might help Alabama.

5. Michigan loses to Illinois and Ohio

The Michigan Wolverines are one of two undefeated teams in the Big Ten. Last week, they were on furious gear last week against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the first half, but pulled out for a big win. They are in a position to hold a playoff round for the second year in a row, but all of that could change in the coming weeks.

They have a big meet against the Ohio State Buckeyes, who haven’t lost a game yet, at the end of the season. Not to mention facing Illinois’ #21 team in Week 12.

For Alabama, they need to cheer Ohio State and Illinois for victories over Michigan.

Again, it is highly unlikely that all of this will happen. But you never knew.
