Notre Dame adds another chapter to the most inexplicable season ever

Had the match ended in the first half, Notre Dame would have defeated the Navy with ease.

Few, if any, teams have spent the season quite like Notre Dame Fighting Irish so far.

Although Notre Dame managed to improve to 7-3 this season by defeating its Marine rival in Baltimore, it was only a three-point victory. The Irish led the Marines 35-13 in half. Then, inexplicably, the bottom of the Golden Domers fell, with the Navy edging out Fighting Irish 19-0 in the last two frames. If you do the math, it means a 35-32 Victory on the Notre Dame road.

As you can see, this is the reason why Marcus Freeman’s team lost to Marshall and Stanford this season, as well as being far from Hill Mary from a home run to Cal…

Notre Dame survives its belated terror by the Navy in Baltimore to improve to 7-3

A real serious question here: Is Notre Dame any good? The Golden Domers were the 20th team last time Football World Ranking. They had impressive victories over the ACC hopefuls in North Carolina and Clemson. These are the only losses the Tigers and Tars have incurred this season. The Irish are also high on BYU and Syracuse with Boston College and USC left.

With this being Freeman’s first year at the helm, it was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride on South Bend. You never really know what the Irish team will show each week. They will play up to the level of competition, but they will also play with their food and can lose in the process. In short, the Irish are exactly what we thought they were, an 8-4 team.

Yes, there was some sloping with Brian Kelly leaving for LSU, but the tidal nature of Freeman’s team was nothing short of extreme. This is probably an indication of a team playing with a lot of emotion. This should not be the least surprising for a head coach who prefers the defensive side of the ball. In time, this will change. What a trip this was!

The only goal that was really important for this young team was to be able to do pot exercises.
