Michigan and TCU harassed the Tennessee fans in the most brutal way possible

Tennessee almost got the help they needed from the nearby Michigan and TCU games on Saturday.

The results of the Michigan and TCU games were not at all what Tennessee fans had hoped for.

While the Vols are the highest-ranked team at one loss in the country at No. 5 in the most recent College Football Playoff rankings, the No. 3 and No. 4 teams lost nearly as much on Saturday afternoon. Too bad closing only counts in horseshoes and grenades. TCU stunned arch-rival Baylor in Waco with a last-second field goal, while Michigan needed a great day off its punt to hold off Illinois.

Heading into the final week of the 2022 regular season, Michigan and CSU remain undefeated.

Tennessee fans are beside themselves after how the Michigan, TCU games went

Due to the Vols’ loss en route to Georgia divisional contention, Tennessee does not play in the SEC Championship Game. One could easily argue that the Vols are the second best team in the SEC this season, but the divisional format will prevent Tennessee from getting to Atlanta in early December. Thus, the Volunteers have no control over their own destiny when it comes to the College Football Playoff.

Tennessee has two games left in the regular season. The Vols will play South Carolina on Saturday night before taking on in-state rival Vanderbilt over Thanksgiving weekend, a team that won two straight SEC games and is still somehow alive to achieve bowl eligibility at 5-6. Style points are the Vols’ best friend for the next couple of weeks, as that’s all they can offer the committee.

Since Michigan and TCU improved to 11-0 (8-0) this year, the Wolverines and Horned Frogs are in control of their destinies when it comes to the playoff game. If Michigan wins The Game over Ohio State in Columbus and the Big Ten title in Indianapolis, they’re in. If TCU beats Iowa State at home and then wins the Big 12 Championship game in Arlington, it will participate as well.

Tennessee may still be in, but Saturday’s wins by Michigan and TechU didn’t help Vols’ cause.
