Brendan Loughnane is the king of the PFL’s featherweights after a grueling fight with Bubba Jenkins at the PFL Championship PPV
On June 18, 2019, Brendan Loughnane was not awarded a UFC contract after appearing on Dana White’s Contender Series, causing an uproar in the MMA community.
Three years later, Loughnane is now a champion in a professional MMA organization and a millionaire.
Loughnane scored a win over Bubba Jenkins in the 2022 PFL Featherweight Championship Finals to become the Divisional Champion at the PFL Championship pay-per-view event.

Both men started the fight focusing on leg kicks. Jenkins tried to remove about 90 seconds but couldn’t get it. However, Jenkins clipped Loughnane with a right hook and snatched him to the cage, where he hit and (unsuccessfully) attempted a takedown again until he cut Loughnane with about 90 seconds left in the round. However, Laughnan’s kicks did notable damage with a hematoma developing in Jenkins’ right leg.
Loughnane continued to focus on the leg kick into the second round, with some punches behind them, and swelling building up in Jenkins’ leg. Meanwhile, Jenkins tumbled upstairs to Looughnane’s broken nose, though his movement appeared to be affected by the leg.
Loughnane continued to beat Jenkins’ already battered leg to start the third, although Jenkins picked up an incredible pace in an effort to take control of the fight. Jenkins attempted to get another takedown late in the round, but didn’t have the strength to fight Loughnane’s resistance to the takedown. In the closing seconds of the round, Loughnane was the one to pick up the pace and seemed to rock Jenkins into a late flurry in a last-second attempt to end the fight.
Jenkins’ right hand stumbled midway through the fourth round, with follow-up shots ending the fight.
