Twitter reacts to Kayla Harrison’s first loss in the PFL Championship

After Harrison was in firm control in the first round with her dominant floor position, Pacheco appeared to rock Harrison during the second round, at one point making it into a tight guillotine attempt. Harrison would fight back and score an arm try but not before he was forced back due to Pacheco’s force.

Harrison’s attempts to bring Pacheco back down on third down were met with a slam dunk by Pacheco from down. Pacheco threatened a triangle choke, but Harrison overtook him and attempted a late third stage finish with ground and poundโ€”to no avail.

The final two rounds saw Pacheco fight through Harrison’s attempts to score a takedown with her defense or fist. Even when the fight was on the ground, Pacheco seemed to have read up on Harrison and showed more effective grappling and control.

In the end, the three judges scored the fight 48-47 in favor of Pacheco.

The PFL Championship takes place on Friday, November 25, 2022, live from the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. Follow along with FanSided MMA, who is on site for all the news and highlights.
