Odell Beckham Jr. was the subject of a late Sunday morning flight in Miami. what happened?
On Sunday, in the middle of the NFL’s slate A game and in the midst of several reports of planned free agency visits, news broke that Odell Beckham Jr. had kicked off an American Airlines flight in Miami bound for Los Angeles, California.
Here’s a full timeline plus everything we know so far about the accident.
Where was OBJ going?
According to reports, Beckham was on his way from Miami International Airport to Los Angeles. It appears as though his flight may have been AA1228, which was scheduled for 9:01 AM ET, and did not depart until 11:30 AM ET.
OBJ is cryptically tweeting about something early in the morning
Just after 10 a.m. ET, Beckham sent out a flurry of cryptic tweets about something he tested with a little substance.
Reports on the initiation of the OBJ journey
At 2:44 p.m. or so, Andy Slater reports that Beckham kicked off a flight in Miami. He was reportedly unconscious and refusing to fasten his seatbelt.
As Slater said, the flight needed to land, which was confirmed by passengers and video, while the situation was dealt with and Beckham was taken on board.
Later, Tom Bellicero tweeted a full statement from Miami-Dade Police who reads:
“At about 9:30 am, officers from the Miami Dead Bullseye department were dispatched to the emergency medical department of an American Airlines flight. The flight crew were concerned about a passenger (Mr. Odell Beckham), as they tried to wake him up to fasten his seatbelt, he appeared to be He enters and passes out before they depart.Fearing that Mr. Beckham was seriously ill, and that his condition would worsen during the expected 5-hour flight, the flight attendants called police and fire rescue.When the officers arrived, the flight crew asked Mr. Beckham several times to get off the plane “, but he refused. The plane descended, at which time the officers asked Mr. Peckham to stir up the plane, which he did without incident. The officers escorted Mr. Peckham to the unsafe area of the station where he made other arrangements.”
