Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tyler Boyd spoke about the upcoming game between Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow, seeing similarities between Manning and Brady.
The Bengals will host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in Week 13, marking the first time the two teams have faced each other since last season’s AFC Championship Game. Many are eager to watch the game between Patrick Mahomes and Joe Borough, and Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd went so far as to compare him to Peyton Manning against Tom Brady in the early 2000s.

It’s about who excels and takes advantage of their chances to drive and score points. These are the kinds of games where we have to take care of football and not turn it around.”
While both Mahomes and Burrow are extremely talented players, it hasn’t quite come to the level of Brady and Manning yet. It may be in the future, but there’s more to play with as Burrow is just starting his career and Mahomes has settled into his life.

Tom Brady is basically a household name, regardless of whether someone is a football fan or not. He has been widely considered “the greatest of all time”, proving just how influential his career was. It took a lot to take him down, but Manning was a fair match, one of very few.
Mahomes and Burrow are two of the best quarterbacks in the league right now, but they haven’t quite done what Brady and Manning have. Burrow is still fairly new to the scene after having a massive breakthrough last season and bringing the Bengals to the Super Bowl.
Mahomes is getting a lot of attention because he’s been the Chiefs’ starting quarterback since 2018. He’s undoubtedly a powerhouse, but Burrow has more playing time before a real competition is formed.
In the near future, the match could certainly grow to be on the level of Brady vs. Manning if both continue to play at such high levels. Boyd’s statement is understandable, but a bit premature.
